IWC Aquatimer Auto 2000 ‘35 years Ocean 2000 EDITION’

The Ocean 2000 is celebrating its 35th birthday this year. The iconic dive watch was first created by Ferdinand Porsche in 1982. Despite its timeless avant garde design which was way ahead of its time,

it was also technically years ahead of the competition with an extraordinary (for the time) 2000 meters of water-resistance which was made possible thanks to the groundbreaking use of Titanium for its. Its case was a mere 14.5mm thick.

Today, the Ocean 2000’s characteristic design codes such as its black dial, luminescent hands and indices and the red tip on the seconds hand have inspired by a new version of IWC’s flagship diver. This is the Aquatimer Automtic 2000 Edition 35 years Ocean 200) Ref. IW329101.

In addition to the above, striking recessed grips on the bezel and the ridged rubber strap are reminiscent of the original model from 1982. As with all Aquatimer models, the technical features of the watch include IWC’s patented SafeDive system designed to prevent inadvertent changes of the dive time and the convenient bracelet quick-change system.

MSRP is 7400USD. If the blurb above doesn’t convince you – check out ‘’The Stath’’ rocking a regular version of the Aquatimer Auto 2000 in the Mechanic Resurrection; such a cool diver!
