MIDO Ocean Star Captain TITANIUM

By TLex MIDO have given their Ocean Star Captain a bit of an update for 2016; sporting a brand-new grained anthracite dial and new Titanium construction could Mido garner a few new admirers of their Ocean Star collection?! I for one think it doesn’t look half bad. ;)

Made from satin-finished and polished Titanium, a metal that is not only hypoallergenic but is lighter and more resistant than Stainless steel, the new 42.5 mm in diameter Ocean Star Captain has all the typical divers features that one might expect of any descent Swiss diver:

a Sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment on both sides, a unidirectional rotational divers bezel with an anthracite sandblasted aluminum inlay and a Titanium bracelet complete with folding clasp and divers extension and a water-resistance up to a pressure of 20 bars (200m).

The hour, minute and seconds hands and dial markers have generous touches of SuperLumiNova. A single white SuperLumiNova dot at 12 o’clock on the divers bezel helps to indicate elapsed dive-time. On its bracelet, the new Ocean Star Captain Titanium weighs just 123 grams.

It is powered by the Caliber 80, the latest-generation automatic mechanical movement from Mido with up to 80 hours of power reserve. Five other versions of this model are available.
