ALPINA Seastrong Diver HERITAGE

By TLex Introducing the new Seastrong Diver Heritage, a modern interpretation of Alpina’s very first divers watch dating back to 1969.

The vintage Seastrong was distinguished itself by its Super Compax water-resistance technology and its double screw-lock crown system, that is still featured in today’s version.

Its design is that of a typical compressor case dive watch with 4 o’clock crown controlling winding and time-setting,

while the one at 2 o’clock rotates the inner rotating bezel that measures dive-time, vital information to divers especially in those days before dive-computers were in use.

The dive-time scale was thus protected from any accidental handling by being fitted inside the case, however is visible through a glass box.

The 1969 version was made of old school Hesalite while today’s model adopts a much tougher cambered Sapphire crystal.

Further divers features include: a 42mm Stainless steel case, an engraved back, a domed Glass Box with anti-reflective Sapphire crystal and a water-resistance to 300 meters.

The Seastrong Heritage is powered by an automatic mechanical movement, the Alpina AL-525 calibre with 26 jewels beating at 28,800 vib/h and with a power-reserve of 38 hours.

Its functions include: hours, minutes, seconds, date, rotating inner bezel ring with 60-minute dive-time scale.

Revisiting historic models is pretty much par the course these days. We’ve seen pretty similar looking models from ICW, JLC, Longines et al in recent years this one can certainly holds its own design and quality-wise.

I am just not sure how desirable the Alpina brand name is?! What do you think; would you buy one?

  1. The Seastrong Heritage looks like the child of a Glycine Lagunare and a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms...
