TOURBY Lawless Diver 42MM [in the works]

By TLex Tourby Watches proudly announce a new project, the Tourby Lawless Diver 42mm, which has been in the works for over 2 years, now. Everything from the case to the bracelet has been designed and constructed in-house by Tourby.

The watch's various components have all been made by different suppliers from Germany (case and dial) and Switzerland (movement, hands and lume). With each component being re-worked and finished in Tourby's WORKSHOP in Bochum, Germany, where the final assembly will also be carried out.

At the moment Tourby have made two prototype watch cases: one brushed case and one combination brushed and polished case. They have installed the dial and hands from their 45mm Lawless Diver just to give us an idea of how the watch might look. However these are not the final designs. The actual dial and hands are still in production.

The watch case, bracelet and crown will be finished by hand. The beveled edges on watch case, dial and crown will made rounder to eliminate any sharp edges so that the watch is more comfortable on the wrist.

Each of the Lawless Diver 42mm watches will be powered by ETA 2824.2 movement (Elabore quality) adjusted in Tourby's workshops to 5 positions to an accuracy of 0 to 8 seconds per day, almost chronometer spec.

Tourby have worked painstakingly on the construction the Lawless 42. They tell me that the watch case and bracelet fit perfectly on the wrist without any space between the watch and the wrist, so that it wears much like an armlet. The steel bracelet is only 3.1mm thick to reduce the overall weight of the watch, but they assure me it is still robust.

There's some lovely coin-edging for the bezel, and for the caseback, again the dramatic engraving depicting Neptune on his chariot, trident in hand being pulled through the waves with the motto 'Imperium Neptuni Regis' above.

Finally a custom rubber divers strap will also be produced so that it fits flush against the lug walls, so that there won't be that annoying gap between the watch case and the strap.

The watches will be delivered with a steel bracelet with a divers deployant clasp, a rubber divers strap with a steel buckle and a leather travel case. Delivery will start in July 2014, or if you're in the neighborhood, Tourby would like to extend a warm invitation to come and visit their STORE in Hagen, Germany.
