By TLex Oris has renewed its partnership with World Record Free Diver, Carlos Coste. Together they have launched some of the World’s most technologically advanced divers watches and now plan to push the boundaries once again by developing new and innovative dive watches that should inspire both watch lovers and diving enthusiasts alike.
Carlos Coste works closely with Oris testing and approving their entire range of diving watches. Here he is in 2006 at Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, where he set the world record for free diving in the variable weight modality with a mammoth depth of 140 meters. Carlos was injured in late 2006 whilst pursuing a world record in the no limits category.
However he resumed full training a year later and in 2010, he established a new Guinness World Record for free diving, by completing a 150 meter underwater swim using no apparatus through Dos Ojos, a colossal cave network called the cenote that twists and turns for 31 miles under Yucatan, Mexico.
To honor Carols Coste’s incredible feat in 2010, Oris launched the Carlos Coste Limited Edition CENOTE Series, the ultimate performance accessory, which followed the introduction of the Carlos Coste Chronograph Limited Edition in 2007 (above) and the Carlos Coste Limited Edition in 2006, a watch that I once owned and loved myself.
