Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk II Pro (Got The Full Set)

My latest acquisition arrived on Friday, my third GP SHII Pro. I got the version with the polished bezel markers and lugs, Ref, 49941-21-631 HDBA. Don't ask me why I have three! Here's a quick look at what is in my humble opinion one of the greatest contemporary dive watches ever made.

The SHII Pro has 44mm x 20.11mm satin-finished G5 Titanium case. It is fitted with 4.85mm thick highly domed sapphire crystal with AR-coating on both sides. It has a screwdown crown at 4 o'clock and a 5.90mm thick domed screwdown caseback, which allows for up to 3000 meters of water-resistance. The SHII Pro has two lateral helium relief valves, one on each side of its case. It houses a GP 033R0 Caliber 11 with 26 jewels and a power reserve of 46hours.

From GP The Sea Hawk Pro 3000m watch is a veritable professional diving instrument, certified to resist pressure to a depth of 3000m. As with all Sea Hawks, the case is immediately identifiable by its crown located at 4 o’clock and its rotating bezel. Different systems and adaptations have been introduced to ensure its performance under extreme circumstances.

The case back is stamped with a very significant symbol: a porpoise snaked around an anchor with a trident. This symbol was attached to a patent filed by Girard-Perregaux in 1898 at the Intellectual Property Office in Germany.
